'Nightraiders - US Navy, Royal Navy, Royal Australian Navy and Royal Netherlands Navy Mine Forces battling the Japanese in the Pacific in World War II' has arrived from the USA. This is the second volume of the trilogy that started with 'Home Waters' and is available from the American publisher, Heritage Books at a cost of $40 plus P&P to the UK.
Alternatively and better still, you can buy it here for £30 (including UK P&P). For each volume sold, a donation of £10 will be made to the Vernon Monument Project. So far, the proceeds from sales of 'Home Waters', the first volume of the trilogy have resulted in more than £1,500 being donated to the fund.
The trilogy is co-authored by former Cdr David Bruhn USN and Rob Hoole whom many will know from his Royal Naval service as a Mine Warfare and Clearance Diving Officer, his involvement in the Vernon Monument Project and through the various supporting associations.
Signed copies of 'Home Waters', the first volume of the trilogy, are available at the same price and conditions (£30 including UK p&p) or at £26 if bought in conjunction with either or both of the other volumes.
The third volume of the trilogy, titled 'Enemy Waters', will deal with mine warfare (minelaying, minesweeping and naval bomb & mine disposal at sea and on land) against Germany and Italy during the Second World War and is due to be released later this year (2019).
