The monument is being funded entirely by voluntary donations. All and any contributions are therefore very welcome.
The Project is registered as a Charity in England and Wales.
The preferred means of donation to the Charity’s fund is via a Bank Transfer to “The Vernon Monument Project Fund” and, for UK tax payers who qualify, accompanied by a Gift Aid declaration. Details of how this income tax recovery mechanism works are listed on the HMRC web site. The mailing address for the Project Vernon Honorary Treasurer is listed on the Contact Us page on this website.
For those supporters organising fundraising or sponsored events, the next most effective means of collecting funds is by credit card (see the button below).
Alternatively, donations may be paid direct via BACS transfer to:
Account Name: Vernon Monument Project Reserve Account
Sort Code: 52-41-32
Account No: 45667721
Fundraising is based on the concept of a 1.25 life-size statue, made from bronze, stainless steel and granite, that will be mounted in the water of what used to be termed Vernon Creek.
Part of the amount raised will be put towards Phase 2 of the project that will see the provision of interactive terminals sited on the dock side through which visitors can learn about the origins of the site and those who lived, worked and trained within its walls over the years of its occupation by the Royal Navy. .
Register your support now and, better still, please donate to the monument fund. The sooner the funds are in, the cheaper the eventual cost will be and the quicker the monument can be built… all contributions will be gratefully received.
